CARDIO… WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
Cardio is an important part of a balanced exercise regime. It’s important to get the blood flowing and the heart rate up to improve your health and make your heart stronger. Cardiovascular activity also builds the veins and nerves stronger. For the first 20 minutes of cardio, you will be burning carbohydrates, but after 20 minutes the body taps into fat storage as well. Furthermore, exercise releases happy endorphins after about half an hour, which can improve your mental wellbeing. When you first start out you might feel like it’s harder to go for a long time, but the more you do it, the more endurance you build up, and therefore it becomes easier to sustain longer, and more fruitful cardio sessions.
RESULTS
You want to try some interval training at times, this will help you to achieve higher levels of success because you may be able to run at a faster pace for a little while but not the whole time, and it’s better to pick up the pace whenever you can to improve your results. Another good thing to do is get a good playlist going for the purpose of keeping the pace, if you have music where the beat is faster, you’ll keep up to the pace of the music, which charges you up and reduces fatigue.
If you are running, you want to be on a slight incline whenever possible to save your knees from wear and tear. Running is the most effective way to target tummy fat. Also, you want to avoid using the handrail, but instead use your personal power to stay on track. Another great tool to use is the elliptical machine, it is a cross training device found at most gyms, and it is the most efficient way to burn calories, it also keeps the pressure off your joints. Tip: you can go on more of an incline to target your glutes.
